Belinda Puetz, PhD, RN
Journal for Nurses in Staff Development
Editor-in-Chief, Journal for Nurses in Staff Development, since 1985
Prior editor position: (Founding Editor of 3 journals; have edited 5 in my career)
Years as Editor: Since 1985
Years in INANE?: Since 1985
Other position: In 2006, I sold my association management company, so have been "retired" since then. Am consulting in professional development and publication. Also am the Continuing Education Consultant or the Studer Group in Gulf Breeze, FL
Accomplishment: I am proud that I launched 3 new journals in my career: Journal for Nurses in Staff Development, Rehabilitation Nursing Research, and the Journal for Child and Adolescent Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing
Best: I love helping new authors publish for the first time.
Worst: Having to reject a manuscript, knowing what it feels like as an author myself
Amusing: My editorial staff and I "collect" malapropisms that we find in submitted manuscripts. Reading the collection always elicits a chuckle!
3 words: Consistent, focused, and driven
Strangest request: An individual attending my writing for publication workshop asked if I would "put" my name on her paper "so it will get published!"
If not an editor?: Absolutely nothing else — between my association management and my editing, I have the perfect job!
Relax?: What?
