Workgroups
Workgroups are formed when there is an initiative that INANE members wish to pursue in the interest of furthering the mission of INANE.
2012-2013 - International Connections
Formed at the 2012 conference in Montreal. The purpose of this initiative is to increase international participation in INANE. Volunteer members of this initiative are: Vallire Hooper (leader) Janet S. Fulton, Karen Sue Hoyt, Donna Nickitas.
Annual Awards
This group was established in 2012 by Maureen "Shawn" Kennedy, along with Peggy Chinn, Mickey Dougherty, Jan Fulton, Leslie Nicoll and Kathy Schoonover-Schoffner. The workgroup is re-formed each year at the annual meeting. (See "Awards" page for details on current and past awards)

2012 - 2013 - Podcast Project
Leader: Lucy Bradley-Springer. Watch for monthly podcasts on the INANE Web site. These will be short interviews with INANE members speaking on a wide variety of topics related to nursing, editing, publishing, and INANE business. Stay tuned for podcasts recorded at the 2012 INANAE Conference in Montreal and consider volunteering to do a telephone interview. Contact Lucy Bradley-Springer for additional information.
2012 - 2013 White Paper Project
Leslie Nicoll (leader), Peggy Chinn and Francie Likis. Our plan is to develop papers on issues related to publishing that can serve to provide clarification and insight. The papers will be circulated among INANE participants for comment, with the goal of making the papers available as a service to authors, reviewers and editors involved in publishing in nursing.
Internet Resources Workgroup
The internet resources are managed by members who volunteer for the Internet Resouces Workgroup. This workgroup was founded in 2009 when members at the 2009 conference affirmed their desire to establish of an independent web site and email list that were managed by INANE members only. The founding members of the group, who served through 2012, were Peggy Chinn, Suzanne Smith, Kathy Schoonover-Shoffner, Vallire Hooper, Judith Lewis, Leslie Nicoll, Linda Thede, Mona Shattell, Jan Fulton, Margaret Freda and Wendy Budin. Any member can suggest and provide information for the "Resources" section of the web site.

Completed Projects
2011-2012 - Future of Nursing
After discussion of the 2010 Institute of Medicine’s Future of Nursing report, members formed a taskforce on this topic and its meaning to our work as editors. Members who volunteered were: Lucy Bradley-Springer and Marion Broome (leaders), Cindy Monro, Donna Nickitas, Susan Carroll, Karen Hill, Elaine Miller, Patricia Seifert, Joyce Fitzpatrick, Shawn Kennedy, and Shirley Smoyak.
The group coordinated the publication of editorials addressing the Future of Nursing and the role of nursing journals in fulfilling the recommendations of the report. See the "Future of Nursing" page for more information.
