Founding group

In 1980, Thelma Schorr, Editor of the American Journal of Nursing, along with Ellie Shrader, Mary Larkin, Leah Curtin and Gail Piscarik met over lunch and decided to form INANE. Thelma Schorr then organized the first meeting of the International Academy of Nursing Editors, held in the summer of 1981 at the Park Sheraton in New York City. See our Photo Archive for a photo of those present at this meeting.
